Over to Peggyann Lilley (Press Officer for Oval Track Legends) to hear more about the driver - BRANSON POYNER.

''Branson's roots are from short oval racing.  His father Brian raced on the Stock Car tracks of Great Britain in the 60's and, from an early age, Branson wanted to race too.  He began in Bangers and later moved to the Stock Rod formula with much success.

An horrific motorcyle accident
nearly put an end to Branson's
racing career.  It was feared
that he would never walk again,
let alone drive a car.  His
determination to overcome the
setback won through and within
a year he was back driving.  He
later returned to the race track
to be as competitive as ever.

Branson was also a winner in Karting for a couple of years.  He then gave up racing altogether and took an 18 year break from motor sport.  That was until he saw his friend Andy Hartwell race in the Oval Track Legends Series and was bitten by the bug again.  Since buying his own Legends car in November 2008, Branson hasn't looked back and has gone from strength to strength. He has won races and fought some tough battles to win the UK Oval Track Legends Master Division (an award from the Legends Cars manufacturer 600 Racing in America) and has featured as top rookie throughout the current season of 2009.  Come the end of the year, I'll eat my hat if he isn't crowned UK Oval Track Legends Rookie of the Year.''
